The Heart Compass reading library
Parenting teens
A reading library for parents who want to understand their teen and what happens between them at home. Explore connection, trust, boundaries, school, screens, independence and parenting through separation, divorce or relocation.
This library is currently being developed.
What will you find here?
Articles by Yossi Medalsi about familiar situations at home: a request that turns into an argument, a teen who withdraws or worry that is hard to set aside. The reading makes room for your child's experience and your own responses as a parent.
Where should you start?
Start with one situation that concerns you. Consider what you have tried, what happened afterwards and what you would like to be different. This gives you a specific question to explore as the reading collections develop.
What can you take from reading?
A clearer understanding of the difficulty, a question to explore or a direction for a conversation or boundary at home. The teen library also offers a perspective addressed directly to young people.
How can you move on to parent guidance?
Parent guidance with Yossi Medalsi begins with what happens at home and what you have already tried. We explore what drives your responses and develop practical ways to talk, set boundaries and build agreements between parents. One parent can begin without the teen taking part.
We work on leading the home, reconnecting after an argument and acting with confidence when a teen resists. A parent who wants deeper work on a personal barrier can also choose individual coaching. An introductory conversation helps clarify what fits your situation. Sessions are held in Hebrew via Zoom.
